Emre Can could return for Liverpool in time for the Champions League final.
The out-of-contract midfielder had been expected not to appear for the Reds again after spending the past two months on the sidelines with a back injury.
But Jurgen Klopp has included Can for an end-of-season training camp in Marbella this week as part of preparations for the Kiev showpiece on May 26.
His return to contention comes just 24 hours after being omitted from Germany’s squad that will defend their World Cup crown this summer.
Liverpool plan to monitor and assess Can’s fitness on a daily basis before determining when he will be allowed to return to full first-team training.
Can is expected to leave Anfield this summer after failing to agree a new deal, allowing him to join another club on a free transfer at the end of June.
