To date Raheem Sterling has been Liverpool’s only winner of the Golden Boy, created by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, as he was crowned in 2014.

But the Wales international has missed out on a place in the final list as Liverpool became the only European club with more than one nominee.
Gomez’s surprise inclusion comes on the back of a lengthy comeback route which saw the Reds defender named the new England under-21 captain.
Summer arrival Solanke earned a place after he was named player of the tournament when England lifted the Under-20 World Cup in June.
