Sturridge could make Liverpool FC return against Everton

Daniel Sturridge could return to action for Liverpool in Saturday’s Merseyside derby.

Sturridge has not featured for the Reds since a 2-0 win over Tottenham at the beginning of February after being struck by a series of injury setbacks.

He was sent home from Liverpool’s temporary base in Spain last month due to suffering from a virus which prevented him taking part in warm weather training.

Further injury problems beset the England international at the beginning of March with a hip strain ruling him out of a further four games for the club.

But Jurgen Klopp has welcomed Sturridge back into the fold ahead of his side’s 228th derby showdown with Everton at Anfield this weekend.

Although Sturridge is unlikely to start the high noon encounter, his return to squad training comes as a boost for the Liverpool manager heading into the clash.

His late introduction paved the way for Sadio Mane to strike an injury-time winner in December’s corresponding fixture at Goodison Park.
