Gomez could make Liverpool FC comeback at Boro

Joe Gomez could make his first Liverpool outing in over 15 months tonight.

The defender had been sidelined since October last year after suffering an ACL injury and began his comeback in a behind closed doors friendly last month.

Gomez continued his road to recovery by making a series of appearances for the Reds’ under-23s but was restricted to a 45-minute outing in the 3-2 win over Arsenal at Anfield on Monday.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp has since included the 19-year-old in his travelling party for this evening’s Premier League clash with Middlesbrough.

His inclusion comes as the Liverpool manager was given a green light to include Dejan Lovren after he suffered cramp during Sunday’s draw against West Ham.

Gomez has yet to feature under Klopp with his last appearance coming as a substitute in Brendan Rodgers’ final game before he was replaced by the German.
