Liverpool ‘did what it can’ on Salah future

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool ‘did what it can’ in talks with Mohamed Salah.

Salah’s existing deal at Anfield is set to expire at the end of next season, with the prolific forward insisting he was ‘not asking for crazy stuff’ in negotiations.

The Egypt international also claimed that any decision on his long-term future with the Reds was ‘not in my hands’ when asked about the ongoing impasse.

But Klopp remains calm about the situation and is happy to wait out any decision that Salah takes to either extend or curtail his Anfield career.

He said: “I think Mo definitely expects this club to be ambitious, we were in the last years and we are.

“We cannot do much more. It’s Mo’s decision. The club did what it can do. It’s all fine from my point of view.

“From my point of view it’s exactly like it should be in this moment in time. Nothing has happened further – no signing, no rejection.

“We just have to wait. Completely fine, no rush.”
