Liverpool learn Carabao Cup fourth round fate

Liverpool will face Preston North End in the Carabao Cup’s fourth round.

Jurgen Klopp’s side set up the trip to Deepdale courtesy of a 3-0 win over Norwich City with goals from Divock Origi and a Takumi Minamino brace.

The last-16 tie is scheduled to take place on the week commencing October 25 and marks the first time that both teams have met in this competition.

Liverpool last took on the Championship outfit in 2009 as part of an FA Cup third round which saw Albert Riera and Fernando Torres score for the visitors.

Sepp van den Berg is currently on loan at Preston, having joined for the second half of last season as part of the deal that took Ben Davies to Anfield.

The Reds, meanwhile, have seen two of their upcoming fixtures altered for broadcast purposes in the Premier League’s November rescheduling plans.

Their trip to West Ham United has been pushed back to a 4.30pm start on Sunday, November 7, which will be shown live by Sky Sports in the UK.

Arsenal’s visit to Anfield on November 20 is also subject to upheaval as Liverpool face their London adversaries in a 5.30pm kick-off time.
