Liverpool are investigating an alleged incident involving a ball boy and Wolves defender Jonny.
Claims that the full-back clashed with the youngster emerged following the Reds’ 1-0 win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at Anfield on Sunday.
It is alleged that the Spain international came into contact with the ball boy while trying to retrieve the ball amid the cagey encounter between the teams.
The incident is understood to have taken place in front of the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand side of the stadium.
Liverpool are seeking to establish the full facts of the incident while Wolves are awaiting feedback from their counterparts before passing comment.
“The club will follow established protocols in terms of gathering the relevant information,” Liverpool said in a statement released to Press Association.
“While that process takes place we will be making no further comment.”
Wolves were denied a late first-half equaliser in the game when Jonny was ruled offside by VAR in the build-up to Pedro Neto’s stoppage-time strike.
