Liverpool fans have been warned about threats to their safety in Napoli next week.
The Champions League holders begin their defence at the Stadio San Paolo in five days’ time after the two teams were drawn together again in the group stages.
But supporters making the trip to Italy are being advised by the Reds following several attacks outside the stadium before last October’s Group C encounter.
Anfield officials have liaised with Merseyside Police to outline the dangers that their fans will face in Naples ahead of the fixture with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
They include urging fans to use available shuttle buses instead of making their own way to the stadium and avoiding congregating in groups around the city.
Another recommendation has been that anyone travelling for the game to ‘remain in their respective hotels to eat and drink’ amid safety concerns.
Napoli, meanwhile, have hit out at their local municipality for the state of the home dressing room at the Stadio San Paolo following lengthy renovation work.
The Serie A side had played their opening two games away as part of the refurbishment but shared a video on social media of the unfinished room.
“I have seen the state of the dressing rooms at the San Paolo. There are no words,” said Ancelotti.
“I accepted the club’s request to play the first two games away from home to allow the work to be finished, as was promised.
“You can build a house in two months, but they weren’t capable of renovating the dressing rooms.

“Where are we supposed to get changed for the games against Sampdoria and Liverpool? I’m shocked at the incompetence of the people in charge of the work.
“How could the Region, Municipality and Commissioners fail to respect the commitments that were made? It smacks of disregard and a lack of a bond with the city’s team. I’m dismayed.”
Despite the ongoing building work, Liverpool’s away dressing room has not been affected and will remain the same as it was for their previous visit, a 1-0 defeat.
