Mohamed Salah will not face charges over using his mobile phone while driving.
Liverpool referred the forward to Merseyside Police in August after a video posted on social media appeared to show him using the device at the wheel.
Footage of Salah using his phone while surrounded by fans is understood to have been taken near Anfield after the Reds’ 4-0 win over West Ham.
UK driving laws prevent phones being used at the wheel even when a vehicle is stopped or stationary in traffic and carry a penalty of six points or a £200 fine.
However Merseyside Police have confirmed that the Egypt international, 26, will not face any prosecution over the incident.
“We can confirm a 26-year-old man was spoken to following an incident on Arkles Lane in Liverpool on Sunday 12 August,” read a force statement.
“Inquiries have taken place and there is insufficient evidence to support a prosecution and as such no further action will be taken.
“The man has been spoken to by officers and given advice and guidance around mobile phone use in a vehicle.”
Liverpool have declined to comment on the matter.
