David Moyes has backed Everton’s forwards to hit the goal trail this season.
Both Beto and his half-time replacement Thierno Barry endured difficult outings and to find the target in Saturday’s 247th Merseyside derby defeat.
The Guinea-Bissau international’s withdrawal at Anfield came after spurning chances in a back-to-back Premier League appearance for the Blues.
Prior to his recent drought, Beto had enjoyed a renaissance since Moyes’ return and hit a double figure tally at the end of the previous campaign.
But the Everton manager believes that his No.9 and Barry will find the mark.
“We still need to supply the forwards with really good opportunities,” said Moyes.
“We know that. We’ve been well aware of this.
“I’ve said many times, and I’ll say that again and I repeat myself, we don’t have the 70s or 80s [million pounds] or even more it takes to buy certain players.
“We’ve had to buy within our means and we’ll hugely support the ones we’ve got because they’ll score us goals.
“I’m sure they’ll get quite a few by the end of the season.”
