Silva refuses to discuss Everton’s set-piece problem

Marco Silva insists that any talk about Everton’s set-piece woes will be kept in-house.

Silva’s side conceded their 17th goal from corners and free kick in all competitions during Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat against Manchester City.

Aymeric Laporte’s late first-half header was also the fourth game in succession that the Blues have found themselves undone by an injury-time free kick.

But Silva is now planning to keep all discussions about the subject confined to the Goodison Park dressing room rather than speaking publicly in the media.

He said: “It was a big, big frustration for us.

“We lost the game tonight with one goal in the 47th minute and another in the 97th.

“But, and it’s not that I don’t respect you, I don’t want to talk more about this set-piece situation.

“Everything I will tell our players they already know because everyone is so negative, and I understand why you ask this question, and it is something in the mind of our players.

“We have to work more and more on this situation, I agree with you, because it was a really tough moment in that moment.”
