Bolasie could still leave Everton this month

Yannick Bolasie could still leave Everton before the January transfer window shuts.

Bolasie chose to cut short his season-long loan with Aston Villa earlier this week due to a lack of regular first-team opportunities for the Championship outfit.

But the DR Congo international’s return to Goodison Park may prove short-lived.

Crystal Palace are understood to be considering a move for Bolasie, two-and-a-half years since he sealed an original £25 million transfer to the Blues.

Marco Silva has refused to rule out the 29-year-old leaving on loan again this season and admitted that the decision to end his Villa spell came as a surprise.

He said: “It is a possibility of course [another loan]. Until now we have had no enquiries.

“We will do what is the best solution for him and us as a club. We have four wingers in our squad and we are happy with them.

“What I don’t want is for Bolasie not to play again.

“It doesn’t mean I have already decided what will happen. Let’s see what will happen at the end of the market.

“When he took the decision to come back we didn’t expect it, even though he has that option in his contract.”
