Everton striker agrees to join Galatasaray

Everton striker Oumar Niasse has reportedly agreed to join Galatasaray.

Niasse gained prominence at Goodison Park last season with a number of spirited performances which came during a difficult period for the club.

But he failed to force his way into Marco Silva’s first-team plans despite the pair working together during the Senegal international’s loan at Hull City in 2016/17.

Galatasaray have previously expressed an interest in Niasse and reports in Turkey suggest that they are preparing to firm up that long-running pursuit.

According to newspaper Fanatik, the Istanbul-based club have struck a deal in principle with the 28-year-old but are awaiting final approval from the Blues.

Gala’s sporting director Fatih Terim is said to have maintained regular contact with the player during their efforts to finally secure his signature.

Niasse, who enters the final 12 months of his current deal next summer, has been reduced to only six first-team appearances in all competitions this season.

Everton have regularly utilised Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to lead the line over the former £13.5 million signing from Lokamotiv Moscow.
