A woman has been charged after a man was slashed in Toxteth.
Police were called to Upper Parliament Street, where paramedics treated a man in his 30s who had been slashed in the face at 3.45am on Wednesday.
A cordon was imposed at the scene as officers carried out the initial stages of the investigation, which included forensic, CCTV and house-to-house inquiries.
Officers arrested a man and a woman at a property in the local area on suspicion of assault and section 18 wounding with intent respectively.
Bianca Carey, 30, has since been charged with s18 wounding with intent and remanded in custody to appear in court on Thursday.
The 29-year-old man was released with no further action.
