Liverpool impacted by Microsoft global outage

Several Liverpool amenities were impacted by a global IT outage.

The glitch on Microsoft’s Windows system sparked widespread disruption on Friday morning and had a knock-on effect to public services across the city.

NHS practices were affected with Brownlow Health Central, which operates three branches in Liverpool, only dealing with clinically urgent matters’.

Merseyrail also revealed that the technology issues prevented the use of passenger information boards and printing out third-party tickets at stations.

Some airlines at Liverpool John Lennon Airport were temporarily operating a manual check-in process but flights remained largely unaffected by the outage.
