Car crashes into north Liverpool classroom

A car crashed into a Liverpool primary school shortly before pupils arrived.

The white Mercedes collided with an outer wall at the Beacon Primary School in Heyworth Street, Everton at around 8.30am on Monday morning.

A female driver of the car was assessed at the scene while a passenger sustained a minor injury. No other injuries were reported from the incident.

Children were not present in the area at the time of the collision and the building will now be assessed for any structural damaged caused.

A 39-year-old woman from Walton has now been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and careless driving and taken to a police station.
