Two seriously injured in Queens Square crash

Two people suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Queens Square.

Emergency services were called to the Liverpool city centre bus station at around 3.50pm on Sunday when a SEAT driver collided with the pedestrians.

Police initially diverted pedestrians into St John’s Shopping Centre while buses were prevented from stopping after the incident near the Royal Court.

A man and a woman were later reveled to have suffered serious head injuries and have been taken to hospital while the driver stopped at the scene.

“Officers remain on Queen Square in Liverpool after a collision this afternoon (Sunday 29 October),” confirmed a Merseyside Police spokesperson.

“At around 3.50pm we received a report of a collision involving a blue SEAT Ateca and two pedestrians near the bus station.

“A man and a woman who sustained a serious head injury after the collision have both been taken to hospital for further treatment.

“The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
