Police are looking for a gang member behind an attack in Halewood last month.
A man in his 20s was walking on Wood Lane at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, September 13 when he was approached by a group of men near to the park.
He was attacked by a member of the gang who attempted to take his mobile phone and was left with bruises and fractured ribs following the incident.
Detectives described the suspect as medium, stocky build and around 6ft in height who was wearing a black ‘On Running’ tracksuit with reflective logos.
The tracksuit is believed to have been hooded and he wore black sports gloves, and reportedly was also wearing grey Nike Air Max 85 trainers.
Witness, forensic and CCTV enquiries have so far proved inconclusive.
Detective Inspector Barbara Hebden said: “This was a despicable act of violence which left the victim seriously injured.
“We’re hopeful that someone who was travelling on Wood Lane at between 10.30-11pm may have captured something notable on dashcams, or that there is CCTV or other information out there.
“We’re determined to do all we can to find those responsible so come forward and we will take action.
