A woman has been charged after two people were filmed having sex in Concert Square.
Video footage of the incident of pair engaging in various sex acts at the popular Liverpool city centre nightspot went viral earlier this week.
Other clips circulated showing the man and woman also appearing to have sex on Bold Street and a Merseyrail train, all believed to be on the same night.
The incidents were condemned on Thursday by the Mayor of Liverpool, Joanne Anderson, who described them as ‘disturbing, damaging and illegal’.
Police have since charged Kelly Cousins, originally from Bradford but now living in Bootle, with outraging public decency in relation to the incident.
The 37-year-old was bailed on condition of not entering Liverpool city centre and will appear at the city’s Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 20.
Detectives are still working to identify the man who was involved in the videos and have urged anyone with information to get in touch with them.
Diane Pownall, Liverpool Community Policing Superintendent, said: “Merseyside Police will not tolerate illegal acts of public indecency on our streets and, rest assured, we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“All year round we work tirelessly with local businesses, Liverpool City Council and other partners to make sure that our city centre is a safe place for people to come and visit and experience our nightlife.
“We are clear that we won’t let such unacceptable behaviour from a small minority of people tarnish the reputation of our city, so please, come forward with any information and we will take action.”
