A teenager has died after being hit by a taxi on a busy Liverpool road.
Police were called to Scotland Road at around 2.30am on Sunday, June 24 to reports of a collision involving a taxi and a male pedestrian aged 19.
Emergency services also attended the scene in Vauxhall, where the man was sadly pronounced dead.
The taxi driver stopped immediately after the incident and is helping police with their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, from Merseyside Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of a 19-year-old man who has sadly lost his life following a collision earlier this morning.
““We have now launched an investigation into his death and his family have been informed. They are being supported by our specially trained liaison officers.
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or properties in the area that have CCTV to please contact us.
“Alternatively if you were driving in the vicinity I ask that you please check your dashcam footage that may have captured the incident and to also come forward.
“Every piece information is vitally important to our investigation to establish what happened.”
