Police have arrested four more people in the hunt for Shaun Walmsley.
A 66-year-old man and 65-year-old woman, both from Anfield, were detained on Wednesday in connection with Walmsley’s escape from prison in February.
The pair have been taken to a Merseyside police station for questioning on suspicion of assisting a person unlawfully at large and money laundering.
That came hours after a man and a woman, aged 38 and 33 respectively, had been arrested on identical by detectives investigating Walmsley’s disappearance.
Both face identical charges after officers seized significant quantities of cash and two vehicles when executing warrants in Anfield and Kinmel Bay, North Wales.
Also from Anfield, the man and woman face questioning on the Walmsley’s break-out from a planned visit to Aintree Hospital on February 21 this year.
Police have offered a £20,000 reward seized from the 38-year-old when he was sentenced to life for the murder of Anthony Duffy in 2014 to help find him.
A total of 14 people have now been arrested on assisting the former drug dealer and perverting the course of justice, with 10 being released pending a disposal decision.
Officers have reminded the public not to approach Walmsley if they see him, as he could be with others who helped him escape, who are believed to be armed.
Walmsley himself is also described as dangerous.
Detective Superintendent Natalie Perischine said: “I want to reassure the public that Merseyside Police is committed to establishing Walmsley’s whereabouts.
“There is currently a reward of £20,000 on offer for information leading to the apprehension of Walmsley and his return to prison.”
Officers would ask anyone who may come into contact with Walmsley to contact the police on 999.
Anyone who may have any information which could help with the investigation are asked to contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
