Aaron Lewis’ family have appealed for ‘no more gun death’ as they paid tribute to the Wavertree murder victim.
The 26-year-old suffered fatal gun shot wounds outside a chip shop in Grosvenor Road on Wednesday evening in what police believe was a targeted attack.
A Home Office post mortem revealed that Lewis, the son of former world champion kickboxer Alfie Lewis, had died from multiple bullet wounds.
His death was the second connected to gun violence after Everton resident Thomas Baker was gunned down at the Meat Market in Old Swan last Friday.
“Last night my oldest son was shot dead,” read a Lewis family statement.
“It has broken my family’s heart; we loved him from the very first day he was born.
“We do not want revenge because that would mean meaningless loss of another life.

“We will leave it in the hands of the police who gave us great support and for that we want to thank them dearly.
“Let the law take its course. We want justice. No more gun death.
“Please respect our privacy.
“Rest in peace son, we shall never forget you.
“Your loving family.”
Lewis’ family called for an end to the recent spate of shootings in the city as police confirmed that a handgun had been recovered close to the murder scene.
The firearm was found in a Renault van which had been burnt out at 7.16pm on the same night of the killing near an entry close to Brookdale Road and Ferndale Road.
