Police have charged two men with the murder of Stephen Essery in Walton.
The 51-year-old was killed on Milman Road last weekend after suffering a single yet fatal stab wound.
Joshua Alexander Johnson, 20, and a 16-year-old boy from Walton have been charged with Mr Essery’s murder and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court.
Two other suspects arrested in the case, a 46-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman also from Walton, have been released pending a disposal decision.
A 41-year-old man from Kirkdale was also arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released with no further action taken.
Yesterday Mr Essery’s family paid tribute to the Everton supporter and dog lover, who was described as ‘a loving, kind and gentle soul’.
