Plans for a Liver Bird-themed play area in Liverpool city centre have been revealed.
The free-to-use area for all ages labelled ‘The Kingdom of the Liver Bird’ would transform a 1,010 square metre area of Chavasse Park in Liverpool One.
A tower in the shape of the Liver Bird will feature a tube slide alongside a zipline and trampoline area as well as tunnels, climbing structures and musical elements.
A storytelling competition will also be delivered in collaboration with local schools to develop the narrative of the play area and bring to life its journey from water to land.
If approved, work will begin on the project in early 2027 as only the second public playground area in the city centre alongside the existing Great Georges Square.

“We’re proud to be investing in new family facilities that enhance our offering here and this play area will create a vibrant space for children of all ages to enjoy.”
