Liverpool One has recorded its strongest festive trading performance to date.
A double-digit footfall growth and strong sales increases beat national benchmarks with an 13% increase registered during the festive period.
The city’s flagship shopping and leisure hotspot also noted a 7% uplift in sales, delivering the popular destination’s best Christmas ever.
Bosses reported that the period between Chrstmas Day and New Year was especiallly strong with footfall rising by 15% year-on-year and sales by 36%.
This contrasts with industry trends, which saw many UK high streets and shopping centres record flat or weaker performance.
The national retail sales benchmark fell by 0.2% and footfall across the broader market slipped by 0.3%.
Liverpool One’s deputy estate director Donna Howitt said: “We have delivered the strongest Golden Quarter to date, which is a true testament to the quality of brands and breadth of choice at Liverpool one.
“But we know that the success of the Golden Quarter highlights the importance of bringing families together, whether they are enjoying our public spaces, taking part in seasonal activities or combining leisure and hospitality with shopping.
“Looking ahead to 2026, we remain focused on strengthening Liverpool One’s position as a place to come together at the heart of Liverpool city centre, while continuing to evolve our programme of vibrant events planned and our strong retail and leisure offer in line with our visitors’ expectations.”
