Borussia Dortmund are planning to use Nuri Sahin to scupper Liverpool’s plans to sign Mahmoud Dahoud.
Jurgen Klopp has revived the Reds’ interest in Dahoud with a reported £25.8 million bid for the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder in January.
But the Liverpool manager’s former club Dortmund are set to join the race for the Germany under-20 international in the coming months.
Bild claim that the Bundesliga side are planning to offer midfielder Sahin as a makeweight in their €15 million offer for Dahoud.
Sahin spent a fruitless five-month spell at Anfield in the 2012/13 season before promptly rejoining Real Madrid prior to moving to Signal Iduna Park.
The Turkey international’s current prospects at Dortmund appear bleak after failing to make a solitary appearance under Thomas Tuchel this season.
