Philippe Coutinho wants to fulfill his career ambitions with Liverpool despite interest from Barcelona, his former coach has claimed.
Coutinho remains the subject of interest from the Nou Camp, who are said to be plotting a bold £65 million move for the playmaker next summer.
But the Spanish giants will be frustrated in their efforts to prise him away due to there being no buy-out clause in the Brazilian’s contract.
And Rodney Goncalves, Coutinho’s youth coach at Vasco de Gama, has revealed that the 24-year-old remains intent on staying with the Reds.
“His ambition is to be in the list of the top 10 players (in the world),” he told the Daily Telegraph.
“Whenever we speak, he always says that he is very happy at Liverpool and his biggest challenge is to win the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool.”
