Alberto Moreno could return to Liverpool’s starting line-up in the Premier League as James Milner is a doubt for the trip to Crystal Palace.
Milner made the Spaniard’s left-back role his own as an ever-present since the beginning of the Reds’ season but has been unwell since Tuesday.
Moreno was afforded his first 90 minutes of the current campaign during that night’s EFL Cup win over Tottenham and could retain his place at Selhurst Park.
Jurgen Klopp has refused to discount Milner’s return in time for the early-evening encounter but is pessimistic about the 30-year-old’s chances.
He said: “Milly was ill on Tuesday so no chance for him (in training).
“Yesterday he had a running session to look how he feels.
“[Playing after only training] two days, I’m not sure.
“Apart from the knocks from the last game, (everyone else) should be ok.”
