Mamadou Sakho’s Liverpool career appears all but over amid claims he ‘no longer exists’ in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
Sakho has been banished to the Reds’ under-23 side since refusing to pursue a short-term loan spell away in order to regain his match fitness.
That was preceded by the French defender being banished from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America for failing to adhere to club rules.
And reports in Sakho’s homeland allege that the writing is now officially on the wall for the 26-year-old at Anfield after failing to win over Klopp.
L’Equipe claim that the former Paris Saint-Germain captain’s hopes of staying at Liverpool evaporated following his tirade on social media last month, when he claimed a ‘lie’ was behind his first-team exile.
Earlier this week Klopp confirmed that Sakho’s prospects remained unchanged by insisting that there had been no recent developments in relations between the pair.
