More to come from Liverpool FC young guns, warns Klopp

Jurgen Klopp believes there is more to come from Liverpool’s young guns after they booked a place in the EFL Cup quarter final.

Last night’s 2-1 win over Tottenham saw a Reds side featuring several Academy graduates safeguard the club’s passage into the last eight.

Klopp handed full debuts to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria for the Anfield encounter and has hinted that further graduates may soon follow.

He said: “I thought before the game it could work with them in the team.

“I made the line-up, then I saw it on paper and said ‘Oh, still really good!’

“Of course we’re happy about the players we have, and we a few more to come [who are] a little younger – U18, U23 and even the U15s have some really good boys.

“That’s good news for Liverpool, but we should not talk about it too much.

“They go back in the Academy, train hard and come again when we need them – that’s how it is.”
