Inaki Williams has rebuffed talk of Liverpool’s planned advances.
Reports in Spain over the weekend claimed that the Athletic Bilbao playmaker had attracted the Reds’ interest again ahead of the January transfer window.
Liverpool were said to be planning a £45 million move for Williams but in an interview with newspaper AS, the 22-year-old reaffirmed his commitment to the Basque club.
He said: “I’m happy at Athletic, it’s where I want to be.
“I am very grateful to the fans, the club and my team mates. I want to continue here for many more years.
“I want to be Athletic’s furture No.9 – the player who raises the roof at San Mames every week and scores lot of goals.”
