A 30-metre Christmas tree will again be the centrepiece of Liverpool One’s festive celebrations when they relaunch next month.
Bosses at the city centre retail giants are promising a party to remember by building on the success of last year’s event.
An impressive light performance created by the Liverpool Empire theatre will herald the official switching on of the tree at 6pm on November 10.
Beforehand, from 4pm onwards, there will be live music, giveaways, street entertainment and pantomime appearances at the Paradise Street spot.
Shops across the city centre will also remain open until 8pm on this evening with bars and restaurants open until late.
A new addition to the tree this year will be dazzling light shows. Every day in the run up to Christmas, iconic Christmas songs and musical numbers will fill Paradise Street with the lights on the tree creating spectacular dance routines to the music.
Bar Hutte, the Alpine-inspired bar, also makes a welcome return underneath the tree offering the perfect place to kick-start every Christmas party.
Up to 12 guests can enjoy a hearty Christmas singsong with a spot of “carol-oke” inside one of its 10 themed ski-huts or celebrate in the disco hütte, complete with disco lights and Christmas tunes.
And as a first this year, visitors are being encouraged to enjoy a new dimension to the festive fun by downloading Liverpool One’s new Fairy App.
The iOS-only app allows users to ‘capture’ one of the fairies flying around the tree, name them and then share with their friends across social media.
On Chavasse Park, there’s even more fun for the family with a host of children’s rides and seasonal food and drink attractions.
This offer has been expanded following Ice Festival re-locating to Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.
Donna Howitt, Marketing Director at Liverpool One, said: “This year we’ve pulled out all of the stops to ensure the Christmas season is more magical and awe-inspiring than ever before.
“With lights and music across the city, this really will bring Christmas to life in Liverpool this year.
“We are delighted to welcome back our unique Christmas tree with a host of new features and offer something that’s not found anywhere else in the country.
“This year, visitors to the city centre are guaranteed to be singing and dancing as the daily light shows entertain.
“We hope that visitors of all ages have a wonderful experience in our city over the festive period.
“We are confident lots of happy memories will be made in Liverpool this Christmas.”
