Juventus have reportedly had an initial £25 million approach for Christian Benteke rejected by Liverpool.
It is understood that the Reds are willing to sell the Belgium international this summer after failing to launch his Anfield career , however they are hoping to recoup some of the £32M they paid for him in the summer.
Italian giants Juve are said to be long-term fans of Benteke and see the striker as a perfect replacement for Mario Mandzukic, who has emerged as a recent transfer target of Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old has failed to make a significant impact since arriving for an eight-figure fee from Aston Villa just eight months ago despite scoring in his second outing of the season against Bournemouth.
Following Jurgen Klopp’s arrival at Anfield, he has moved further down the pecking order and with Danny Ings’ long-awaited return from injury, he is likely that he would become fourth-choice at the club behind Daniel Sturridge, Ings and Divock Origi.
Liverpool’s Premier League rivals West Ham are also said to be in the hunt for Benteke.
