Mamadou Sakho has claimed that ‘the truth’ is not being told about his Liverpool exile.
Sakho last featured for the Reds’ first-team during a Merseyside derby win over Everton in April prior to being subjected to doping allegations.
UEFA later cleared the defender of any wrongdoing but his planned road to redemption has been hampered by injury and the arrival of Joel Matip on a free transfer.
Jurgen Klopp expelled Sakho from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America in July after he breached club protocol on several occasions.
He was advised to pursue playing opportunities away from Anfield on a short-term loan but rebuffed numerous approaches from Stoke City and Besiktas.
Klopp has regularly warned the 26-year-old that he must regain match fitness before being in contention for a starting role for Liverpool again.
But Sakho has hit back at the suggestions in a social media post on Snapchat.
He said: “Now it’s three weeks I am fit to play games. They don’t [even] want me to play with segonde (under-23s) team lol.
“Still working hard like Scouse Soldier! Still not talking cos I want to speak on the pitch.
“I will speak soon for the people who support me and don’t understand the situation.
“Still happy to live in my ‘Liverpool Contry’ (sic) with my family, hope to have chance to play soon to give my best like I try to always do!
“I accept my situation but I can’t accept the lie…the fans deserve to know the true (sic)! Thanks for your support 6 six months stay quiet.”
