Jurgen Klopp vows to put an end to Liverpool FC’s ‘selling club’ status

Jurgen Klopp has vowed to stop selling Liverpool FC’s young talent in the quest for quick money.

The Reds have received over £374M in the last six years from mega sales such as that of Fernando Torres, Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez with each summer transfer window bringing widespread changes.

Whilst Klopp has seen his fair share of overhaul since joining the club last October he has insisted that it will nto always be this way.

He said: “It shows a lot: a club in change, not as successful as everybody wants, so you need to make changes.

“Everybody feels under pressure [at times]. The most important thing is it’s the past.

“The past transfer window was busy, I don’t want them always to be this busy.

“Development doesn’t stop after one year, you should have more time. Success all around is about having consistency.

“Successful teams don’t have to change a lot; Liverpool don’t need to be a selling club.

“Nobody calls us and says ‘sell, we need money’, but it’s about finding the right squad.”
