Jurgen Klopp has slammed Liverpool’s poor decision-making following their defeat to Burnley.
Goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray saw the Reds suffer their first reversal of the new Premier League season and a first at Turf Moore in over 40 years.
And despite enjoying large spells of dominance against the Clarets, in both shots and possession, Klopp has pointed to lapses in concentration as the root cause.
He said: “We could analyse this pretty quickly, and say ‘we lost 2-0 here and that is not allowed’ but that is not the way I like to do it.
“I thought we had 90% of possession, but I heard that in the second half it was only 87. I don’t know where [Burnley’s] 13% of possession came from.
“It was a difficult game for us. We lost the ball in the wrong moments, where we were open to the counter attack, our decision-making wasn’t good.
“But even at half time I had the feeling that there was still a lot in this game for us. So then we tried again, but no.
“The first half was not good for our self-confidence. We lost our timing, our patience in offensive situations. We were really not good.”
