David Moyes has slammed the Professional Game Match Officials Limited’s response to Everton as ‘rubbish’.
Hill Dickinson Stadium chiefs contacted the body of referees to raise issues of officiating inconsistencies following last weekend’s defeat to West Ham.
The Blues’ move came after a decision by referee Stuart Attwell to wave away a penalty appeal after Mateus Fernandes had handled the ball in the area.
VAR operator Michael Salisbury backed up Attwell’s original decision even after it was subject to a review with contact deemed to be accidental.
Everton CEO Angus Kinnear made representations to PGMOL following the London Stadium encounter but Moyes was unimpressed with their response.
Asked whether the club had heard anything back, he said: “Yes, but it’s always rubbish what you get back. You never get anything good back.
“Jonathan (Williams), the secretary, spoke about it and spoke with them. I didn’t do so, but it is never what you want to hear.”
He added: “They don’t speak particularly well to us when we hear from them.”
Moyes confirmed that Beto will be available for Monday’s visit of Manchester City after he was cleared following a concussion in the Merseyside derby.
The Guinea-Bissau international was photographed in training on the run-up to facing Pep Guardiola’s Premier League title chasers early next week.
Despite being on a prolific run of form with four goals in his last three outings, Moyes paid tribute to Beto’s continued pursuit of personal development.
“Even today, he’s always asking and trying to find out where and if we thought he could do better,” said the Everton manager.
“Other staff members work with him individually as well, because that’s what he actually wants, he wants extra work and he wants to try and get better.
“It’s great when you work with people who are always trying to improve and trying to step up.
“He’s started to score a few goals and we hope he can continue that.”
