Plans to create Liverpool’s new tallest building have been revealed.
The proposed skyscraper would stand at 70-storeys high and is set to feature a five-star hotel alongside luxury apartments stationed on the city’s iconic waterfront.
Developers also plan to house bars, restaurants, gymnasiums and banqueting facilities alongside a rooftop terrace which will overlook the city centre.
If approved, the tower will be the centrepiece of 10 buildings on the former King Edward industrial estate as part of the £1 billion Kings project by Beetham Davos.
The developer has partnered with KEIE, part of the TJ Morris group which owns Home Bargains, ahead of a public consultation in spring and planning submission.
Ian Simpson of SimpsonHaugh, who designed the structure, said: “This is a landmark intervention for Britain’s most dramatic waterfront skyline.
“The tower’s setting optimises the high-quality public realm around it, whilst the soft corners maximise the panoramic views in every direction.
“I wanted to deliver a building that not only sat well with its neighbours, but also reflects the ambition of the city.”
