Liverpool FC set to recoup Mario Balotelli transfer fee

Liverpool could break even on their £16 million signing of Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli scored a solitary Premier League goals during his 12 months in the Reds’ first-team after joining from AC Milan in summer 2014.

Jurgen Klopp has outlined that Balotelli has no future at Liverpool, with as many as four strikers currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

But Anfield officials may finally be successful in their bid to offload the Italy international, according to reports in the player’s homeland.

Corriere della Sera claim that Balotelli, who endured an unsuccessful loan return to Milan last season, could be bound for the Chinese Super League.

However if Liverpool are to be successful in cashing in on the 25-year-old with a money-spinning move, they will have to do so before the country’s transfer window closes later today.

Interest from Serie A remains a fall-back option with both Sampdoria and Crotone still understood to be interested in securing Balotelli’s return home.
