Liverpool FC dealt further transfer blow as Arsenal stage hijack with bumper bid

Arsenal have hijacked Jurgen Klopp’s attempts to sign Neven Subotic after tabling a bumper £12 million bid for the Borussia Dortmund defender.

Subotic has been with Dortmund since joining the club in 2008 from Klopp’s former club Mains and after initially being an important part of the first team he has struggled with playing chances due to injury.

The Serbian international was restricted to just 11 appearances in all competitions last season the Bundesliga club confirmed yesterday that Subotic had been released from pre-season training in order to find a potential new suitor.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the 27-year-old as Klopp is keen on being reunited with the centre-back.

But Express claim that the Reds boss  when it was revealed today that Arsenal have now made contact with Dortmund and are said to be in pole position to secure a deal.
