Liverpool FC start to Premier League season hit by TV fixture upheaval

Four of Liverpool’s opening Premier League games have been moved for live TV coverage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will now start their new campaign in a visit to Arsenal that has been pushed back to 4pm on Sunday, August 14.

A further two trips to London have been moved in the opening weeks with their encounter with Tottenham set to kick off at 12.30pm on August 20.

The Reds are also among the early victims of the league’s Friday night football initiative with the clash against Chelsea put back to an 8pm kick-off on September 16.

Liverpool’s first home game of the season will also be screened live when they take on Premier League champions Leicester City, a week earlier, in an evening kick-off.

Ongoing work in the completion of the Main Stand has seen Anfield’s original opener against Burnley, scheduled for August 13, switched to Turf Moor.

The change means that the Clarets will instead travel to Merseyside for the corresponding fixture on Sunday, March 12.
