Liverpool are said to have sounded out Moussa Sissoko amid interest from Borussia Dortmund.
The Newcastle United midfielder is expected to be high in demand this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
And Foot Mercato claim the Reds have made contact with Sissoko’s representatives alongside Jurgen Klopp’s former side Dortmund.
But Newcastle are unlikely to part with the France international unless offers in excess of £20 million are received.
Sissoko is currently preparing for his country’s Euro 2016 semi-final with Germany and admitted yesterday that his future is on hold until after the tournament.
He said: “Newcastle’s relegation is sad but I’ll have time to think about my future after the Euros.
“I’m not thinking about my club future – that’s sincere.”
