Liverpool appear to still be in with a chance of signing Poland international Piotr Zielinski.
The Udinese midfielder spent the last two seasons on loan at Empoli, is also wanted by Napoli, who saw a deal in the region of £11 million accepted despite the Serie A club turning down a similar offer from the Reds last weekend.
La Repubblica also claim Napoli are also prepared to increase their salary offer in an attempt to win the race for Zielinski.
But Udinese’s sporting director Nereo Bonato has revealed that a move to Liverpool is not off the table for the 22-year-old.
“I think there is an agreement in principle with the clubs, but the lad going to the Euros froze the deal for the moment,” he told Radio Marte.
“We are in a waiting period. Zielinski will choose soon, he wanted time to focus solely on the European Championships.
“The priority now goes to a decision on his future.”
