Liverpool have rejected an approach from Wigan Athletic for Cameron Brannagan.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are known admirers of the 20-year-old, who rose to prominence with nine first-team appearances during Jurgen Klopp’s formative months at the helm.
But Championship newcomers Wigan have reportedly attempted to prise Brannagan with an offer upwards of £1 million which was dismissed by Reds officials, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Klopp holds the Manchester-born midfielder in a high esteemt and is preparing to open talks to extend the player’s future at Anfield in the coming weeks.
