Liverpool are said to be in the market for a new left-back after Alberto Moreno had a difficult 15/16 season.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be preparing a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Marcel Schmelzer.
The two worked together for seven years at the Bundesliga Giants and a reunion is said to be on the cards.
According to Kick Off, Schmelzer’s move is looking increasingly likely after Dortmund secured the signing of Raphael Guerreiro.
Similarly to Alberto Moreno, the 28-year-old helped his team to keep nine top-flight clean sheets in 2015/16, however he spent significantly less time on the pitch due to injury.
His injury record is perhaps the only obstacle in the way of a potential move to Anfield.
