Liverpool have been boosted in their pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
Jurgen Klopp appeared to have failed in the Reds’ efforts to land Dahoud after the Bundesliga club prepared to resist all offers for the Gemany under-20 international.
But Monchengladbach’s decision to hold firm on the 20-year-old’s future, following Granit Xhaka’s move to Arsenal, appears to have backfired according to reports in Germany.
Express claim that Dahoud has rejected the offer of a new contract at Borussia-Park amid ongoing interest from Anfield, with a £25 million bid understood to be on the table.
Borussia Dortmund are also still in the race for the Syria-born player.
