Liverpool will face an unenviable start to their Premier League campaign for a second successive year.
Fixtures for the 2016-17 have pitted the Reds against a difficult opening set of games in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season at the helm.
An opening day trip to Arsenal on August 13 will be followed by the visit of newly-promoted Burnley to Anfield seven days later, although that fixture is set to be moved to Turf Moor due to the ongoing renovation of the Main Stand.
A further two trips to London beckon for Liverpool as they prepare to duel with Tottenham on August 27 and Chelsea on September 17, with Anfield playing host to reigning champions Leicester City in the week prior to the Stamford Bridge clash.
The first Merseyside derby of the season, and a first for new Everton manager Ronald Koeman, will again take place at Goodison Park on December 17 while Liverpool are set to host their local rivals on April 1.
Manchester United will travel to Merseyside on October 15, with the corresponding fixture taking place on January 14, while Pep Guardiola will sample the Anfield atmosphere for the first time as Manchester City manager with a New Year’s Eve encounter.
Premier League newcomers Middlesborough will provide the opposition for a final game of the season, at home, on May 21. All fixtures are subject to change.
