Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is expected to face no further action from UEFA relating to his failed drugs test.
Sakho was originally suspended for a provisional period of 30 days, pending the outcome of testing positive in the wake of the Reds’ Europa League last 16 win over Manchester United on March 17.
Traces of a ‘fat burner’ which breached UEFA’s banned substances list were said to have been found in the France international’s sample following the Old Trafford clash.
But reports in Sakho’s homeland suggest that he will no longer face the prospect of a two-year suspension.
L’Equipe claim that the 26-year-old could become a surprise inclusion in France’s squad for Euro 2016 after an anticipated ban of up to two years was ruled out by UEFA’s as-yet unpublished verdict.
