Jurgen Klopp and Alisson Becker have been named finalists in FIFA’s The Best awards.
Six members of Liverpool’s current first-team squad were included in the original shortlist announced by world football’s governing body last month.
However Sadio Mane, Thiago Alcantara, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk failed to make the final three in the running for the Best Player accolade.
Of the two remaining Reds’ nominations, Alisson is still in contention to reclaim his title of Best Goalkeeper ahead of Manuel Neuer and Jan Oblak.
Klopp could also lay claim to Best Men’s Coach for a second consecutive year.
The German steered Liverpool to a long-awaited Premier League title last season in addition to winning the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
But Klopp faces competition from Leeds’ Marcelo Bielsa and Hansi Flick, who won the Champions League after taking charge of Bayern Munich mid-season
Winners of each award will be announced on December 17 and is decided by equal votes from national team coaches, captains, journalists and supporters.
