Dietmar Hamann claims Liverpool have a ‘great interest’ in signing Jadon Sancho.
Sancho left Manchester City in 2017 in order to pursue regular first-team football at Borussia Dortmund, where he has emerged as one of Europe’s leading talents.
The teenager is now a regular fixture at international level with England but could soon return to the Premier League with a host of clubs tracking them.
Manchester United are said to be one of the sides keen on landing the forward but ex-Reds midfielder Hamann believes his former club are also in the hunt.
“What I hear is that Liverpool have great interest,” Hamann told Sky Germany.
“I would imagine that next summer they could become one of the biggest interested parties.
“He’s from Manchester City and I do not know if he would come back again, and it’s a thing for Manchester United, too, if they’ve ever been to the rivals.”
Since making his senior debut for Dortmund in August 2017, the 19-year-old has racked up 18 goals in 66 appearances with the Bundesliga outfit.
He is also among this year’s nominees for the coveted Golden Boy award which is given to Europe’s outstanding young player under the age of 21.
